About TTL Origins
The next chapter of TeachTalkLearn
TTL Origins grew from a simple belief: learning and life belong together.
But its story began much earlier.
From TeachTalkLearn to TTL Origins
TeachTalkLearn (TTL) was founded in 2017 by Vicky Howard, with a vision to bring learning and life together.
The work began in education and developed into TTL Education, creating resources and programmes that encouraged children and families to learn together and connect learning with everyday life. Some of these resources were also created for use beyond TTL, including through work with Portsmouth Water.
At the heart of the work was a simple philosophy:
Teach - sharing knowledge, tools and perspectives while remaining open to what we can learn from others.
Talk - creating space for dialogue, connection and the exchange of experiences and perspectives.
Learn - discovering, questioning and making sense of what we encounter, bringing new learning back into the conversation.
Teach, Talk and Learn are not separate stages. They are connected. Each can lead to the other, creating an ongoing cycle of learning together.
As Vicky worked with children and parents, she began to notice that learning was about more than academic knowledge. Our experiences, relationships, emotions and patterns all influence how we learn, grow and respond to life.
Then, through her own experiences and continuing learning as an adult, she recognised that this wasn't just something children needed to understand.
It was something we all need throughout life.
We learn about the world, but we aren't always taught how to understand ourselves, our experiences and how they shape us.
This led to a deeper question: what if learning could also come from within our own experiences?
The Origins Cycle®
The Origins Cycle® grew from this question.
What began as an exploration of how learning could come from our own experiences developed into a deeper understanding of how we learn, grow and make sense of what happens in our lives.
Over time, Vicky began to recognise the cycles of awareness and change that we move through, often without consciously noticing them.
The Origins Cycle® gives language to this process, helping us recognise our patterns, understand ourselves and make more conscious choices about how we move forward.
Seeing how The Origins Cycle® had grown from the original TTL philosophy, Vicky created, trademarked and licensed it to TeachTalkLearn Limited for development and use through TTL Origins.
TTL Origins is not a departure from TeachTalkLearn. It is a natural extension of TeachTalkLearn's original philosophy, helping us develop greater emotional awareness, deeper self-understanding and the confidence to trust our own inner guidance.
TeachTalkLearn recognises how learning can happen between us. The Origins Cycle® explores how learning can happen through us.
Today, The Origins Cycle® sits at the heart of our books and cards, with the potential to explore its use in other settings as the work develops.

Vicky has over 20 years of professional experience across business, education, learning, wellbeing and personal development. Her professional experience, personal journey and continuing exploration of how we learn and grow led to the development of The Origins Cycle®
Vicky also works independently through Vicky Anne Coaching.
